This knitting tour coincides with Woollinn, Ireland’s Festival of Yarn in June 2020 and the tour will include the two days of the show.

Included will be an exclusive workshop with Carol Feller. You will spend three days in the Dublin area to enjoy the show and see some of the region's best attractions. Next, you will explore the historic Boyne Valley and enjoy some workshops with Sandra from Crafts of Ireland. The northern part of the tour will give you time to see Slieve

League Cliffs, Glencolmcille Folk Village and partake in a workshop with leading Irish Designer Edel MacBride.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Dublin Sightseeing/Woollinn Dublin
Today you will get a chance to enjoy access to the first day of the Woollinn event with your pass and explore the show at your leisure. For non–knitters or those who want to explore Dublin there will be an optional tour featuring a panoramic tour of Dublin city with a visit to the National Museum of Archaeology. Overnight in Dun Laoghaire, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 2: Woollinn/Free Day in Dublin
This is another day at the Woollinn event where you will get a chance to explore and gain access to the marketplace and all associated “bonus” events to demonstrations, exhibitions & social get-togethers (Pre-Booking required). There are return bus transfers to Dublin city for you to explore the attractions if you choose not to visit the event. Overnight in Dun Laoghaire, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 3: Carol Feller at Woollinn & Local Sightseeing
Carol Feller leading author and knitwear designer is the highlight of the day where you will get an exclusive KnittingTours.com three hour workshop. In the afternoon visit Russborough House, a stately home & Glendalough. Glendalough is a glacial valley renowned for both its Medieval monastic settlement and stunning mountain vistas. Day 4: Aine Dunne, Dyeing Workshop & The Boyne Valley
After breakfast, you will depart Dublin and head north for a tapestry workshop with Aine Dunne where you will try your hands at weaving and learn of her design methods; dyeing workshop with Jess from Olann. For non-knitter, there will be a tour of Drogheda. Finally, you will get to see Old Mellifont Abbey in the historic Boyne Valley. Overnight in Cavan, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 5: Crochet Workshop, Sock Knitting & Spinning Demo
Cavan is a beautiful county in the middle of Ireland where you will get a sock knitting and spinning demonstration from Sandra from Crafts of Ireland. Non-knitters today will get to further explore the Boyne Valley to see the heritage town of Trim and Trim Castle. After lunch, there will be a chance to see Kells Monastic Site. Overnight in Cavan, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 6: Donegal, Belleek Pottery & Donegal Craft Village
The tour takes you to towards Donegal today. The first place you will stop off will be the Belleek Pottery Centre with a guided tour. Continue next to Donegal Craft Village where you will have ample time to explore the shops with particular interest to you being the weaving and felting studios. Also, time will be allowed to explore Donegal town. Overnight in Donegal, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 7: Donegal, Slieve League Cliffs and Glencolmcille
Begin your day with a visit to Studio Donegal, a handweaving and clothing manufacturing business committed to preserving and promoting traditional Irish handweaving. The next stop is the stunningly beautiful Slieve League Cliffs some of Europe’s finest and afterwards travel onwards to Glencolmcille Folk Village overlooking Glen Bay Beach. Day 8: Workshop with Edel MacBride, Derry City
One of the highlights of the tour will be a knitting workshop with one of Ireland’s finest knitwear designers Edel MacBride where you learn Edel’s favourite Aran stitches. After your workshop and lunch, take a walking tour of Derry City which will include some of the local attractions including Derry’s Medieval Walls. Free time in Derry in the afternoon. Day 9: Return to Dublin via The Ulster Folk Museum
After breakfast, the tour takes you to the Ulster American Folk Park which explores the historical links between Ulster and America. The tour continues to Carrickmacross Lace to see the fine lace masterpieces that have been produced in the region since the early 1800s. Finally personal sightseeing in Dublin before a farewell meal.
