For this 9- Night knitting tour the focus on the tour will be historic Kilkenny, the Burren area in County Clare and scenic County Kerry.

We will start with a sightseeing panoramic tour of Dublin City. The following day head for Kilkenny for a knitting and felting workshop with Anita Marnell and Helena Kelly Maye. Also, visit the traditional Cushendale Mill for a tour. Continue on to Killarney in Kerry via Cahir and Blarney Castle where you will enjoy a workshop with Liz Spillane. In addition, we head to the Cliffs of Moher; take a day trip to the Aran Islands for a knitting workshop with Una MacDonagh.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Dublin Sightseeing
At 2 pm meet at the hotel reception and begin your tour with a panoramic guided tour of Dublin City and visit Epic Ireland museum and learn about Irish immigration.Time permitting you will also pay a visit to “This is Knit, an independent, family-owned yarn shop filled with high quality, natural-fibre yarns, from top Irish brands. Overnight in Dublin, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 2: Kilkenny & Anita Marnell and Helena Kelly Maye
After breakfast, you will travel to Kilkenny to have a Knitting and Dyeing workshop with Anita Marnell and Helena Kelly Maye. Learn how to draft and prepare fibres and then spin them into wool ready for making your knitwear creations. Travel onwards to the medieval city of Kilkenny after nearly a full-day workshop.Overnight in Kilkenny, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.

Day 3: Craft in Kilkenny – Cushendale Mill
Today is an exciting day, you will be busy seeing the Kilkenny Castle and Gardens. You will also see the Kilkenny Design Centre which offers a fantastic selection of Irish handcrafted gifts. Next, you will travel onwards to Zwartables Ireland Sheep Farm; after this, you will see the traditional Cushendale Mill with products made on site. Overnight in Kilkenny, Bed & Breakfast included.

Day 4: Cahir & Blarney Castle & Woollen Mills
You will depart Kilkenny after breakfast and head for Killarney in Kerry. The first stop along the way will be Cahir Castle in Tipperary. Continue on to Blarney Castle and Woollen Mill where you will get a chance to kiss the “Blarney Stone”. The final part of the day takes you to your hotel in Killarney a beautiful scenic town. Overnight in Killarney, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 5: Workshop with Liz Spillane & Kerry Sightseeing
After breakfast travel to Kenmare to meet knitwear designer and textile artist, Liz Spillane. Liz has over 30 year’s experience teaching knitting classes. After the workshop, you will have a wonderful experience exploring the internationally renowned Killarney National Park and seeing the sights of Molls Gap and scenic Ladies View. Overnight in Killarney, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 6: Kerry Woollen Mills & Dingle
Dingle is one of the most beautiful parts of Kerry with its breathtaking natural scenery. Explore the Dingle Peninsula with its sandy beaches and craggy cliffs. Along your journey, you will get a chance to stop off at Kerry Woollen Mills. This 17th-century mill has been crafting fine fabrics and yarn from wool for over 300 years. Overnight in Killarney, Bed & Breakfast included

Day 7: Doolin via Adare & Cliffs of Moher & Ekotree
You will head up the west coast after breakfast towards Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. Stop off in the scenic heritage town of Adare in Limerick, one of Ireland’s prettiest villages. The next stop will be the Cliffs of Moher one of Ireland’s with its amazing coastal views. Optional visit to Ekotree Knitwear in Doolin. Overnight in the Burren Area, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Included

Day 8: Day trip to the Aran Islands
This morning you will get an early morning ferry to the famous Aran Islands located off the west coast of Ireland.
On arrival, you will be collected by your Aran Island Knitting Instructor Una McDonagh where you will get tea and scones followed by a workshop learning her Aran Island knitting methods. Overnight in the Burren Area, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Included.

Day 9: Dublin via Tullamore D.E.W. Heritage Centre
Check out of your hotel and make your way back to Dublin via Tullamore D.E.W. Heritage Centre. After sampling some of this fine whiskey, continue to Dublin where the afternoon is free for your personal sightseeing or shopping. Also this evening you will enjoy a final farewell dinner at a local Dublin restaurant. Overnight in Dublin, Bed & Breakfast included.
