For this 7-night luxury knitting retreat, the focus of your itinerary will be knitting in the peaceful surrounding of Parknasilla Resort just overlooking Kenmare Bay on the famous Ring of Kerry surrounded by beautiful mountains and wildlife. You will have the chance to relax and immerse yourself in your knitting while creating a memorable experience with knitting workshops with designer Carol Feller. Her patterns and styles will provide a great learning journey as you master her techniques. You will have the opportunity to travel the Ring of Kerry and Beara Peninsulas Sheep’ Head.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 Dublin Sightseeing
At 1 pm, meet at the Hotel reception and begin your sightseeing with a panoramic tour of Dublin City.
Explore the city’s heritage and history. Visit the Constant Knitter, one of Dublin’s best yarn stores. You have the option to relax at your hotel or continue your personal sightseeing. Overnight at Hyatt Centric Hotel, Welcome Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.

Day 2: Travel to Kerry via Cahir Castle
Today travel to Kerry to start your retreat. The first stop is to see Cahir Castle, it is one of Ireland’s best-preserved castles sitting on the banks of the River Suir. You will meet your knitting instructor Carol Feller at Parknasilla. You will spend a lot more time with Carol over the few days, so this evening is an informal ‘get to know each other’ session. Day 3 Knitting, Whiskey, Chocolate and Trad Music
Today Carol will teach you her pattern of Cabled Hat and Cowl, designed especially for the retreat.
These patterns are a great learning experience & you will learn several different techniques. In the afternoon you get to enjoy a Whiskey and Chocolate Tasting and learn of Ireland’s rich whiskey culture. Overnight at Parknasilla Resort Hotel, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Included.

Day 4 Optional Tour: Ring of Kerry
You can enjoy the peaceful surrounds of Parknasilla Resort and its adjoining beauty or you can join us on a bus journey around the beautiful Ring of Kerry. Carol will be touring with you so bring your knitting needles. Pass through the idyllic town of Sneem and look down into Killarney from Molls Gap. Overnight at Parknasilla Resort Hotel, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Included.

Day 5 Optional Tour: Sheep’s Head Peninsula
Take another opportunity to relax at Parknasilla or you can join us on a beautiful bus journey towards Sheep’s Head Peninsula. You will travel along the Healy Pass to take in the views. Later, meet Niamh from Sheep’s Head Yarn Festival and enjoy a Knitting Session. Overnight at Parknasilla Resort Hotel, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Included.

Day 6 On to Dublin - Crampton Farm & Cushendale
Today you will make your way back to Kilkenny making a few stops along the way. Stop at Zwartables Ireland Sheep Farm to meet Suzanne &her Zwartables Sheep. Visit Cushendale Mill and see products made on site. Continue to your nearby hotel for check-in and take some time to relax before dinner. Overnight at the Lyrath Hotel, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.

Day 7: Kilkenny Castle & Return to Dublin
Begin by visiting Kilkenny Castle and Kilkenny Design Centre which offers a fantastic selection of Irish handcrafted gifts including Jewellery, Knitwear, Celtic Gifts, China, Crystal, Pottery & Glass. Return to Dublin and enjoy a free afternoon to explore, shop or relax before your farewell dinner this evening. Overnight at Hyatt Centric Hotel, Welcome Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
