For this 6-night luxury knitting retreat, the focus of your itinerary will be the knitting and craft heritage of Donegal! You will have the chance to immerse yourself in the idyllic surroundings of Harvey Point Hotel where you will have a memorable experience with knitting workshops with knitwear designer Edel MacBride. Partake in optional tours to see the Glencolmcille region, Slieve League Cliffs, Ardara and Glenveagh National Park. On the way back to Dublin you will visit the Swallow’s Studio where Liz Christy makes her beautiful handwoven products.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Dublin Sightseeing
At 1 pm, meet at the Hotel reception and begin your sightseeing with a panoramic tour of Dublin City.
Explore the City’s unique heritage and history. Visit the Constant Knitter one of Dublin’s best yarn stores. You have the option to relax at your hotel or continue to explore Dublin at your leisure. Overnight in Dublin, Welcome Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 2: Donegal via Carrickmacross Lace & Omagh
Today travel to Donegal to start your knitting retreat. Along the way stop at Carrickmacross Lace to see the fine lace masterpieces that are on display here. Next, visit The Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh before making your way to your retreat base of Harvey Point. Here meet your host Edel MacBride and her team. Overnight at Harvey’s Point, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 3 Knitting Workshop with Edel MacBride
Throughout the knitting retreat, Edel will be helping you along with a project that Edel has designed especially for this retreat. The options will be Swan Lake Cowl or Peggy’s Taepot. After an intensive knitting workshop, enjoy an optional cooking & spinning demonstrations. Overnight at Harvey’s Point, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 4 Optional Tour: Glencolmcille & Slieve League
Today, you can enjoy the peaceful environs of Harvey Point Hotel and its surrounding beauty or you can join us on a full-day bus journey to Glencolmcille & The Slieve League Cliffs. We will also visit Studio Donegal, a hand-weaving and clothing business. Overnight at Harvey’s Point, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 5 Optional Tour: Glenveagh & Ardara
Today enjoy some of Harvey Point Hotel’s fantastic facilities or join us on a tour of Donegal which will include Glenveagh National Park & Ardara.
Bring your knitting as Edel will be traveling with you. On your tour today you will see stunning mountains, lakes and wild boglands that are not to be missed! Overnight at Harvey’s Point, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 6 Return to Dublin via Swallow’s Studio
Check out of Harvey’s Point and travel back to Dublin, stopping along the way at Swallow’s Studio where Liz Christy will demonstrate how she makes some of her beautiful handwoven products.
Continue to Dublin, where you will have some time for personal sightseeing or shopping before a farewell dinner this evening. Overnight at the Gresham Hotel, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast included.
Day 7: Tour Ends
After your final Irish breakfast depart the hotel for Dublin airport arriving in time to complete check-in formalities and that last-minute duty-free shopping.
